I think the 2 possible swaps you could see in D2 is Waupun and Lake Mills. and Prescott and Laconia in D3 I think the 2 South Pods in the State were probably some of the weakest we have seen in D2 in some time. I feel this isn't the strongest D2 field that could of made it to Madison either, Seems most the best teams were in Sectional 1 and 2. If you have some free time I wouldn't mind seeing some other possible groupings like you did for Basketball.

I think the four best teams in D1 came out as winners on Thursday. I felt Bradford, Watertown, and Kaukauna all out-matched their opponents. I thought the Milton-New Richmond game was going to be the closest of the four, and it didn't disappoint in going 11 innings. Milton has the better pitcher in Gwen Baker and was the difference in the game. I think Bradford-Watertown is going to be a good game tonight, but Bradford has the edge in the circle and will edge this one out. Watertown did defeat Bradford, 4-3, earlier this year, but that was their 3rd game of the day at the Chi-Hi Invite. IMO, Kaukauna should handle Milton. Baker is not unhittable, and when the Ghosts get on base they cause havoc. Milton's offense leaves some to be desired, and Karly Meredith in the circle and Taryn Christopher at the plate may be too much for the Red Hawks to overcome.

In the D4 semis, Fall Creek took advantage of some very inconsistent pitching from Coleman and run-ruled the Cougars. Cuba City put together a good all-around game in their first trip to state in their win over Auburndale. Hopefully someone turned out the lights in Cuba City before they left because I think the entire town was in Madison. I would give the edge to Fall Creek in the championship.

I didn't stay for WIAA After Dark and the first D5 semi, but Oakfield broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the 6th with four runs and came away with a 7-3 win over Thorp. They'll play the winner of Pacelli and Assumption.

I won't be there for the rest of the weekend (no more all-tourney passes means a total cost of $95 to see all games), so no more in-person reports from me.

Quite the shockers in D3, Laconia rallies back to win against Mishicot (who now will remain in D3) and the Cardinals from Prescott best the defending champion Cardinals to advance to the D3 Title game.

Lake Mills jumps early on Mosinee early and goes back and forth and ultimately lost on a walk off Sac Fly.

I would agree for the Casual Fan starting at 8 AM and going almost if not 12-14 hours later is kind of hard with no stops, gives no time to go anywhere for more food options, etc. I think adding an Afternoon Session on Wednesday would solve that. An all weekend pass would be nice but I think the way the WIAA has the tickets set up they want to collect as much as they can as its there only real money maker for Softball

Some rather positive news from this year's tournament. Typically with the school year over, or school maybe on its last day or 2, other events going on Softball doesn't attract many. Always helps having small towns or nearby schools participating.
