Pros Of Facebook Ads

The pros of Facebook ads are, you’re able to build branding and have a customer take action right there and then. You are able to reach a wide variety of people with little effort and spending limit. When somebody leaves your website, Facebook ads allow you to retarget them with odds of your choosing—giving you the chance to retain a customer that you may have lost.

Cons of Facebook Ads

So many people are using Facebook ads to grow their business and are super successful in doing so. What are the cons you may ask? Facebook has created a user-friendly interface on the front side that will allow you to create your ads. You most likely will waste your dollars by doing so. I like to compare it to someone who has played an instrument for a long time. They become excellent and professional on that instrument. Facebook is given you the musical instrument and asked you to play. It won’t sound good at all, but you try it because so many other people have been successful using it. You run the ad and get nowhere and spend money with no results.

Pros of SEO

The pros of SEO are you get to be at the top of the search engine when people are searching on Google and Bing. That means is people are going to your business first or calling your business first. It doesn’t guarantee that you will get the customer, but they will be looking at you before your competition.

People tend to have done all the research and are looking for that service. Either that or they are trying to find something that will fit their needs. You don’t have to spend time trying to convince them they have a problem they’ve already understood that there is a problem and want to solve it.

With the correct SEO specialist, your website will also load faster, giving your customers a quicker experience and lower bounce rates. Bounce rates are when a customer comes to your website and doesn’t take other action ( going to another page).

Cons of SEO

SEO tends to be more expensive and takes a little bit longer to get results. It’s something that is very challenging to do on your own and takes an extremely long time to learn. Not everybody who says they are an expert at SEO is. You need to be careful about who you choose. The biggest Con, in my opinion, is the fact that it takes 3 to 6 months to see any real results, but once you see the results, the revenue can be incredible.

SEO vs Facebook Ads; Which one wins and which one loses?

The winner of this one goes to SEO. The main factor in this decision is the time it takes to achieve results, the amount of money spent to get those results, and the outcome when you are on the first page of Google. I recommend both methods with all my clients as you can create brand awareness with Facebook ads and get quick sales. If it’s one thing I’ve learned through the fast sale is never as good as the long sale.

Which Approach Works The best?

The best approach would be to start an SEO campaign and have a Facebook ad campaign going at the same time. You’ll get the results you’re looking for immediately with the long-term effect. Running both is a higher cost approach, but it outweighs the cost. Clients ask me all the time how much do I need to be spending to get results. That’s what it comes down to, right? You want your money to work for you. It should be working for you, and if it’s not, it might be time to rethink your approach. The clients who spend more money have better results and are happier. Those who want to go the cheaper end $100-$200 get upset because that money never did anything for them.

They lost money for one reason. The business wasn’t ready to run ads because there are holes in their business/ message. Everyone wants to get the sale first and fill in the void later.

What if I’m tight on money?

The question I get a lot is, where should I spend my marketing money if I don’t have a lot of money? I do not recommend spending money on Facebook if you are not running a full campaign marketing plan. I would invest that money into SEO.

You may want to get that quick sell in by leaning towards Facebook, but by investing it in SEO, it will have a more prolonged effect than it would with Facebook.

There are plenty of people who do just spend money on Facebook and don’t do SEO. But they tend to spend a lot more on ads than they would on SEO.

Why SEO Beats Paid Ads

With the technology available today, there are multiple ways to drive traffic to a website. There are Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Linked In Ads, Yelp, and much more. With so many options, people are selling 101 ways to drive traffic and results. Some of these options work well, but for others, it’s just a system that flushes away money with ads that don’t produce results. The end game, after all, is to obtain results. SEO (Search Engine Optimization ) works better than any other traffic source out there because it specifically targets customers searching for what you offer and has the lowest bounce rate.

Traffic Is typical Better

A bounce rate is when a user navigates to a website but doesn’t stay. It typically occurs when a user did not find what they were looking for. SEO combats bounce rates by improving content quality among other things. Content is a big conversion point in SEO because it is targeted to fit the right audience which in turn will help them stay on a website longer. The average bounce rate of all the websites Blanc Ideas has completed SEO for is 35%. Compare this to ads that have an average of 75-90% bounce rate. That is a big gap on users staying on your website!

91% of businesses utilizing SEO services saw an ROI. Only 9% didn’t. These numbers blow out the competition with ads in terms of bounce rate and growth. When calculating the dollar amount of what it costs to acquire new customers, ads can get expensive. If this is a monthly cost, it makes more sense to invest in SEO because it is the best possible choice.

Speed Optimization

Included in most versions of SEO is some type of speed optimization. It has a big part in deciding the bounce rate and how users interact with websites. As an example, you find a mobile website takes 10-15 seconds to load. Most users will hit that back button or navigate away before the site has a chance to load. In order to capture users, a website needs to load quickly. At Blanc Ideas, we work to make your website optimized on every respect, not just for search engines.

If you combine SEO with Facebook Ads and Google Ads it can produce a ton of results!
